iTunes 4.9 is out!
Hey everyone.. just another test you can get here.
iTunes Music Store has added the ability to search and subscribe to podcasts... Its free of charge and its a pretty neat feature. Its also a great opportunity to get our name out there. The only problem is, I submitted our feed about 2 days ago (just after the release) and we haven't been able to see ourselves listed on the directory...I just thought that maybe it needs to sense a new release before it will add us...but anyways...just a test! See you monday!

4 Gain:
Someone out there submitted my show as well, and mine isn't up yet. Kind of weird that it takes so long when it would be simple to just set up a script to add shows automatically.
I know! I dont' get it... do you use feedburner for your RSS feed? if you look at the stats it shows that a good portion of our listeners are using iTunes 4.9 as the aggrigator... it just doesnt' make sense to me heh... hopefully it will be resolved soon... I don't even know who to contact about it.
So far I'm honestly not too impressed with the service... especially the whole "extra tags" thing... they could have given us fair warning a week before the release so that we could all have an equal footing with the corporate giants producing podcasts just because the indies made it popular...but no. Now people discovering podcasts for the first time are going to think that these paid-for podcasts are the real thing... oh well. I'm not surprised. Lets just hope ours (and yours) gets posted soon.

Through Itunes 4.9 you can add Podcast Feeds yourself, which is what I did. It's in one of the top menus, and you just input the feed, simple. Great work on the show, looking forword to more shows.
The thing is, by not being in the iTunes store directory, none of the new listeners coming to podcasting for the first time are going to funnel to us. Basically Dave, you have to already know about us and enter the feed manually into the program.
Making the switch to iTunes was a pain in the ass, seeing as how there is no OPML importing capabilities as of yet, so I had to enter in my list of 100+ shows. Most had to be entered manually.
