6 Gain:
Hey,
Awesome show yet again, although I do have one comment. I'm trying to be helpful, but if I'm not, then it's within your right to delete this comment and ignore everything I have to say. After all, I'm sure you get your share of "THIS SHOW SUCKS" flames :)
Unfortunately, I had to skip through "The Rama Report" on this episode because it was too difficult to understand. It sounded as if the report was taken from a phone recording, and a lot of voice quality was lost over the phone line. I didn't have any trouble with any of the other parts of the show.
It could just be the road noise outside my car, or I could have bad ears, but it seemed as if the production quality diminished during that segment due to the phone call. I finally just skipped forward because it sounded as if the segment had been recorded inside a tin can.
I'm assuming you are geographically separated. Perhaps, in the future, you could look into recording a wave file and sending it across the Internet instead of using a phone. The rest of the show sounds professionally done, but that part reminded me of a lot of the podcasts out there where far less care is taken during production.
It's just a suggestion, and it's yours to do with as you will. The content of the entire show, including "The Rama Report," was excellent, and I'll definitely continue listening!
Great show,
-Steve
Yes, unfortunately Rama has to call our 1-800 number and leave a voicemail to do the Rama Report because he has no way of recording himself. Can't be helped, unless someone can convince him to buy a mic.
Oh, and btw, we don't get any "this show sucks" flames. ^_^
The first comment, I believe. The second, I do not :)
-Steve
Interesting. That's sounds like an insult, if anything. I'm quite serious that we don't get negative comments like that. Nobody (other than Prot who doesn't even listen to the show) has ever emailed us with something mean to say.
I didn't mean it as an insult. I apologize if it looked that way.
I write a blog myself, and back last June, when far more articles than now were being posted, there were constant hecklers. At times I had to delete half the comments to the blog because they were either personal attacks on authors or lewd sexual comments.
The flamers disguised themselves with fake names and E-Mail addresses, but I eventually contacted their workplace by looking at their IP addresses, and they were reprimanded.
But the writing suffered; I ended up spending more time during last Spring keeping the discussion civil than actually writing articles.
Anyway, you have a great community here. I look forward to listening to your next show!
-Steve
