VGDJ: Episode #059

This week on the show all about the music and community of OverClocked ReMix:

What doth the end of September bring for VGDJ? Seek, and ye shall find... Episode 059. This show may be one of our shortest in recent times (less than 30mb!), but we've still got your wacky, weekly hookup to the OCR community. The compo scene is finally heating up, we get to talk about our friends the tentacles again (though, in a slightly different way), and perhaps most notably, we have a new contest giving away some newly printed OCR shirts/hoodies! What's it about, you ask? Why, download the show, and hear for yourself.

VGDJ: Episode #058 Who the heck is BGC?

This week on the show all about the music and community of OverClocked ReMix:

It's an adventure in adjudication with judges and zircon and pixietricks! OMG it's true, our very own pixie is now one of the few, the proud, the OCR judges - along with big giant circles, who we managed to grab for a candid interview about week 1 of being a shtyjudgfgt. But we haven't forgotten our roots, no sir-ee! We're in full gear with three brand spankin' new ReMix Reviews, including a clip from mastah guitarist Sixto. Plus, the OCR compo scene has seen a bit of a shocker for the first time in months, and even DrumUltimA brings us some surprises in his meetup report. There's even more, but it is up to you to acquire Episode 058 and unlock the mystery yourself. Huzzah!

VGDJ: Episode #057 Flow Basket Part II

This week on the show all about the music and community of OverClocked ReMix:

Alright, who kidnapped zircon and pixietricks this week and replaced them with these bozos? Well, apparently someone who likes Aussies, hoo hoos, and transparent red pantyhoes... for starters. Clocking in at just over an hour, this fully featured episode can best be described as "fat and sassy." Our latest lollygags cover all the bases, from our recent Game Music Radio interview, to the latest ReMixes on OCR (including a clip from new shttyjdgfgt big giant circles), to quite possibly the weirdest Russian ReMix Roulette ever. Not to mention, dicemaster zircon has cooked up a new episode of the Flow Basket for your listening pleasure! All in all, 057 might be a little out in left field, but hey, five hours of sleep can do that to ya. ;)

"The Next Level" Promo feat. VGDJ!

'Twas a night like any other night in the quiet halls of VGDJ, until we got a little something in our email. Turns out our good friends Becky and Brian over at Game Music Radio have created a promo 'bumper' for their show "The Next Level," focusing on our recent interview with them (see news post below). Not only is the promo really well made, but it's hilarious too. We should commission these guys to do a stinger or two for us. ;)

Check out the promo MP3 here!

P.S. Perhaps thanks to said GMR interview, we've yet again broken our record of daily readers: 1135! Not only that, but we have steadfastly remained in the overall top 10 over at PodcastAlley— halfway through the month and we're still going strong! So thanks as always for your support. We love you guys like cake. Or cookies. Or any other kind of remixer fuel you can possibly imagine!

Weening you from our Monday schedule

Hello hello! Pixie here, bringing you the glorious news that our segment on Game Music Radio's "The Next Level" has been released! The show, hosted by Becky Young (marketing coordinator of Video Games Live) and Brian DiDomenico (cool guy with a VG music band) features weekly interviews with game music composers, musicians, and the like. We know our schedule change may have come as a shock to you, so hopefully this will help to ease the transition. ^_~

Tune in for the inside scoop on how VGDJ was created and received in the ocremix community, some music and remixing techniques from zircon and myself, a kick-ass little retro game music quiz, aaaaaaand the exclusive debut of our Final Fantasy 7 remix collaboration, Deliverance of the Heart! The interview was a blast, and we'd like to thank Brian and Becky again for inviting us on the show. Be sure to take advantage of all Game Music Radio has to offer at their website!

We've recorded a little audio announcement in case anyone wants instructions for picking up the interview. Also cuz we love to talk to ya... :B Enjoy!

Anyway, it's a cookie feeding frenzy on Episode 056 as the OCR community's momentum continues. We've got new reviews, reports, a very somber Russian ReMix Roulette, and the Dwelling of Duels hookup, to name just a few! Not only that, but you'll also discover the secret ingredient that powers every great ReMixer, the true origins of "zircon" and "pixietricks", and what will undoubtedly be the greatest pickup line you will ever hear.
