VGDJ: Shownotes #012

[01:11] EPISIZODE ZERO WUN TOO commin' at ya! West Nile Sucks... and no.. no I don't have it (at least I dont' think)
[01:22] We have a GUEST?! Awesomes... his name is Mythril Nazgul(aka Navid Azeez), coordinator of the DOOM: Dark Side of Phobos ReMix Project; its officially released today (well... monday night ... see note above!)!
[02:49] The Dark Side of Phobos (DSoP herein) has cool little intermissions and snipits that R&A really dig... Tool-esque or Holy Grail-esque... YOU DECIDE!
[02:59] A note on how it was decided which of DOOM's many tracks to include for the project...
[03:49] Dark Side of Phobos... Dark music... makes... SENSE! (not recommended for depressed people capable of murder)
[04:24] Mythril hasn't played this game in a while... SO WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS... Coordinating a remix project... HRMPH! (its okay man!) DOOM has been ported into many versions over the years... its almost impossible NOT to have a working copy on your computer... I do :)
[05:05] Mythril tells us the hardest part about his job... seems like we're seeing a recurring pattern, EH REMIXERS??? He also talks about the beginning of the DSoP journey...GAININ the PEEPOL SKEELZ!
[06:49] The Art of ReMixer Coercion, by Mythril Nazgul
[07:13] Mythril tells us why he'd love to be another ReMix Project Coordinator again... he's looking for one to take over and commit a year of his life to all over again... this guy's unbelievable, folks! ... DRAMA... did someone say DRAMA!? R&A eat it up
[08:07] Otakon 2005 in BALTIMORE is looking up to be an OCR MEETUP place this year... Rayza's gonna dress up to work at The Canadian National Expo in Toronto Aug 25-28 ...
[09:21] Our personal opinions about some of the individual tracks on DSoP come out... WE GOT LEIK BACK STAGE PASSEZ TO TEH PROJECT!!
[12:18] Mythril Nazgul is a happy puppy... and we wrap up this interview... MANY THANKS and Congratulations on completing the Project, as well to all the ReMixers who contributed material, and Global-Trance for his great work on designing the webpage...good work everyone!
[13:42] A little reminder about why we're doing the podcast...The Music, the ReMixers, and the community... most likely one of the closest, tight-knit bunch of people the internet has ever seen. DCT, good to have you back, man.
[15:20] Our SPOTLIGHT on OverClocked ReMix: WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAA NELLY.
[17:00] ReMix Review: From DOOM: 'The Dark Side of Phobos' by Daniel Baranowsky ... who provided an...interesting... clip of himself talking about his Mix...though we've made it acceptable (sorry, Danny...). We also make sure you other remixers realise why we have the rules there... I mean, we're not trying to censor you, just that some things are funny and some things are ... embarrasing. I pledge that we didn't edit out content, just SOME of the embarrasement. Thank you :D ... (I still love ya, Danny... this mix is awesome!)
[23:59] ReMix Review: From Ninja Gaiden: 'Basilisk Run' by Vurez.
[25:56] ReMix Review: From DarXide: 'Starman (don't lose yourself)' by AkumajoBelmont...mmmmmmmmm Space Trance... mmmmmmm Australian... I mean... *ahem* Akuma talks about his task with the minimal source music...
[30:36] YAY I save your ears this week... but people DID try to helps us improve on our pronunciation of the many Japanese composers that created the original source music for these remixes...though... one particular email was really hard to decipher!
[31:45] The Rama ... wait... KYLEJCRB Report! Brought to you by the good folks at KYLEJCRB's MIND! KyleJCRB talks about July's Dwelling of Duels competition, which featured remixes of music the Super Mario Brothers games... newcomers did well in this months competition.... and NEXT month's theme is any music from a racing game... IN OTHER NEWS: analoq's ReMix album... where ReMixers volunteered remixing an analoq original song called "Gone in Thirty Seconds". Thanks man!
[37:13] Just a note to people willing to contribute segments to the show and what not (which we ENCOURAGE!), make sure that if you want to add a segment, discuss it with us first, kay? Cuz work and time goes into making a segment and we don't want it to go to waste if it wasn't planned out properly and all that stuff. Audio comments and segment ideas and community/listener feedback and involvement is what we would like to see more of... just make sure you let us know if you want to do somethin major or different the the way we usually do things... We're Green? :D
[38:14] Russian ReMix Roulette: Random song picked from OverClocked Remix's front page feature. WE ROLLED a TWO!... This week's track was from Metroid: 'Kraid's Hideout' by Select Start which was done with a live string ensemble... check out the write up at the remix's page
[43:36] AND now its time for the usual Post-Russian ReMix Roulette Ramblings... we talk about a particular recent submission to the OCR Judges Panel that is near and dear to our hearts and most hilarious (heheh CHz U SO FUNNAH!)
[44:52] Aurora may end up dying, so we talk about our last wishes... and our potential replacements...which leads us to Polkaroo, logically. (i've been trying to find good pictures of this old old show, and the more I research it, the more I realise how f***ed up this show was.)
[49:38] DONE..FINALLY ('bout time... this was a LONG episode...wooosh!) 3 MONTH ANNIVERSARY!
[50:04] We close out the show with another sample from the DSoP ... From DOOM: 'The Leaning Tower of Babel' by Evil Horde.
